Week 3

Questionnaire results:

What genre do you prefer a film trailer to be to make you want to watch the film?
Most people answered Psychological Romance tp this question which helps us make the decision as a group to base our film genre around a Psychological Romance, as this was the most popular choice. Some of our audience have probably seen to another film with a Psychological Romance genre in the past and liked the film, which has affected their choice on this question. Other audience members may have just liked the sound of a psychological romance.

Do you prefer to have a voice over in a film?
More than half of the answers to this question were yes. Having a voice over in the film trailer will make the trailer easier for the audience to digest as they won’t have to figure out for themselves what the film is about from just the footage. They should be able to relate more to the characters as they will know more about the storyline they are in.

What kind of storyline would you like to see in a film trailer?
17 people out of 21 answered “Only part of the story” which has helped thye group make the decision to show a rough idea of the storyline, including vital information to the plot, but retaining most of the information to be revealed in the full length movie. This will help us when writing the script and storyboard to make sure we only allow part of the storyline to be shown.

How much dialogue would you like in the trailer?
Most people answered “Only some dialogue” which will help us script the trailer more efficiently. We will add dialogue to the script which will help some of the storyline come out clearer to the viewer as we are aware that our current script ideas are quite complicated and therefore difficult to shown through only footage.

Week 2

Brainstorm of ideas:

Week 1

Time plan:

Hopefully this will enable me to pace the tasks I need to meet each week and be useful as a checklist to refer back to over the project. We made sure that each of our time plans important dates such as when we film our trailer (25th October), were the same to ensure we all film together.

Group decisions:

I have decided to work together with Katie Douglas, Grace Collis and Lucy Skerritt. We all agree that we have different strengths to inject into the project and will work together most effectively in order to attain the best possible end products from our brief.
